The internet today has created unlimited money making opportunities for many online users, some starting with zero or limited knowledge soaring to success in making money online. There is a good number of internet companies today offering genuine online business opportunities. But why does only a handful succeed while the majority jump from opportunity to opportunity without success?

The missing link according to some of the online and offline businesses is in personal development, the motivation to identify, set and to systemically follow up your goals.

It’s said that everyday we choose what to do with our time. And that every little action that we are involved in, will produce results, whether desirable or otherwise. However, this is not news for most of the people who have been and are still trying to get out of the rat race by investing their time and money in businesses.

Most of us have been to seminars, have taken notes and have books and audios by the ‘gurus’ of self-improvement, all this without any long lasting favored outcomes. And we keep stacking up more ad more of the personal development materials as we continue to ‘buy hope’ that one day we will find the right program for us.

We also look for that business which promises us all the right products, the right tools, support and a chance to make a quick buck without lifting a finger. And then it all happens again. Nothing works and we jump to another ‘ground floor’ business opportunity.

So what is missing here, what happens to the inspirational buzz we get when we attend a motivational seminar? The possibilities, the vision we attain when we listen to that goal setting CD. Why procrastinating again?

Well, I will tell you what is missing. The one ingredient, the catalyst that you must have if you are to succeed is a daily dose of continuous motivation to enable you to consistently replenish your inspiration and vision.

For beginners it is important that you get this daily dose until you become disciplined or habituated enough to go on an autopilot. The only challenge is; this continuous kick on the back side does not come cheap.

However, there are ways to achieve this daily dose without coasting you an arm and a leg. You can have a coach who will give you a weekly coaching session and get a friend to do the daily butt kicking. The ‘best’ friend to do this for you is the loud mouthed one, who can embarrass you in front of everyone if you haven’t done what you said you would do.

Another way is to have a personal improvement program which is monitored by a group of people who have one goal in common. This way everybody mentors and inspire everybody else. This ‘co-mentoring’ can became unbelievably effective if there is an appropriate platform for this co-mentoring to happen.

The platform should consist of long and short term courses to maintain continuity and systematic personal-growth. The internet can provide such a platform whereas materials can be easily obtainable and individuals can communicate daily without breaking the bank. Wishing you all the BEST on your online business ventures.

7 Reasons To Start Your Own Internet Business

Many people dream of firing the boss and starting their own internet business, working online from home. Is it really such a good idea? Absolutely, and I should know, because I have been working online from home for the past four years.

Here are seven reasons why starting your own internet business is an excellent idea.

1. Low Start Up Costs

Starting up an online business is inexpensive compared to starting up a traditional business. You don’t need to rent office space. You don’t need office furniture for half a dozen people. In fact, you don’t need those half a dozen people either. There’ll be no salaries to pay, no labor insurance to worry about.

With many online businesses you can get started with just a computer and an internet connection.

2. Good Profit Margins

Most online businesses have high profit margins due to the low direct cost of sales.

For example, take an internet business selling ebooks. The cost of stocking and delivering the ebooks is almost zero. Web hosting and a good mailing list management solution will cost around twenty to thirty dollars every month. And then you must pay a fairly small percentage of sales revenue for payment processing fees.

An ebook selling business can usually make a profit of 50-75% on each ebook if selling or referring other author’s ebooks and as high as 90% profit selling your own ebooks or other information products that you write. Other online businesses experience similar profit margins.

3. Simplified Customer Service

If you’ve ever had to face angry customers across the counter of a retail store, then you’ll appreciate the advantage of dealing with customers through the Internet.

Many potential problems can be avoided by simply providing clear and detailed information and a good frequently asked questions section. Any remaining issues can be dealt with via web forms and email.

So the few angry customers you might, and probably will, eventually encounter will not be right in your face. You will have time to gather your thoughts and check into the situation before you respond. And in the event you need to arrange any refunds on information products, you’re not really out of pocket for anything except perhaps a little of your time.

4. Global Market

An online business is also a great idea because of the size of the marketplace. It’s world-wide. Your internet business can easily target customers in almost every country if you choose to. With more and more people around the world getting ‘online’ that’s an enormous market for your business.

5. Work from home

Do you hate having to commute to the office every day? Then you’ll love working online. Instead of spending a good portion of your life stuck in rush hour traffic, imagine rising in the morning, reading the newspaper while enjoying your morning coffee, then simply wandering across the room and turning on your computer to start work.

One of the nicest things about working at home is you get to choose your own working environment. After all, your workspace is where you’ll be spending a lot of your time, so shouldn’t it be a workspace designed especially with you in mind? The desk of your dreams. A comfortable chair that your former office colleagues would kill for. Your favorite music at the flick off a switch.

6. Flexible Hours

When you are working online, you can choose to work whatever hours you like. Do you prefer to sleep late and then work through into the evening, or would you rather start at six o’clock in the morning and have all your work finished by two or three o’clock in the afternoon? It’s up to you when you work and how many hours you work. But don’t be fooled. Running your own business takes a lot of hours and the people making fortunes online usually work long hours, at least during their first two to three years while they are still building up the business.

Working flexible hours can really improve your quality of life because you will be able to spend more time with your family and friends. Never again will you have to miss an important family event.

7. Quick to Start

The seventh reason why working online with an internet business is a great idea is that you can start up very quickly. For some simple online business models such as article marketing and affiliate marketing you can actually be up and running and earning your first online payments within a couple of days.

Admittedly, some larger online business ventures will take months of planning and preparation, but most people getting started in online business will start out with one of the simpler, more proven, internet business strategies mentioned above.

That’s seven great reasons to start your own internet business. There are certainly many more good reasons, but perhaps these seven will inspire you to start an online business of your own.

Internet Home Business Opportunities: Make the Right Choice

With so many internet home business opportunities to choose from, as an entrepreneur you need to make sure that you end up with the right one. After all, if you want to make a lot of money online your first goal should be to find the home business opportunity that is going to give you the best chance of realizing this goal. Luckily, you can search through all of the available internet home business opportunities until you find the one that really tickles your funny bone. The fact of the matter is that the decision you make early on will affect the way that you proceed, the money that you make, and of course your overall level of success.

Here are three common internet home business opportunities that you may want to give a second thought. Remember, these are only three of the more common options. All in all, there are probably thousands of internet home business opportunities just waiting for people like you!

1. One of the best, and most common, internet home business opportunities is becoming a freelance writer. Although everybody does not have the skills needed to be a success in this industry, if you work at it you can make a lot of money. The market for freelance writers is huge, and if you can carve yourself a niche you will be able to make a lot of money without ever having to leave home.

2. Another common internet home business opportunity is building websites, and then figuring out how you can monetize them. The downside of this opportunity is that you will need to know a bit about website design, search engine optimization, and other technical details. But just like anything else, you can learn these skills as you go along. The main benefit of building websites is that if you can drive enough traffic to them you can really cash in big time. There are thousands of websites that provide their owners with a nice income day in and day out. And not only can you do this job from home, after you get established you can cut your hours as well.

3. As you probably know, the healthcare industry is on the up and up. For this reason, medical coding is a top flight internet home business opportunity. This may be a competitive field, but with so many people in need of this service you can surely find plenty of clients sooner rather than later. Again, you will need the right skills, but medical coding is something that you can learn.

These three internet home business opportunities are among the most common. Consider them as well as any others if you want to earn a living from home.

Tax Breaks for Home Businesses

We all know continued layoffs, closings, downsizing and mergers have resulted in home based businesses being grown at a phenomenal rate. However, did you know that home businesses can be great tax shelters?

Home based business people are very often focused on successfully starting the business and generating sufficient profits, initially. So it’s not until the first tax season rolls around that they realize there are deductions that can reduce gross income and thereby can reduce your tax payable.

Unfortunately failure to keep some valuable receipts or other supporting documents, results in many of them being unprepared to maximize the benefits of those eductions. Be sure to keep accurate records of all your expenses, which will later provide the basis of information needed to figure your deductions for the business use of your home. You should keep receipts, bills, cancelled checks, credit card statements, and other evidence of expenses you paid. The IRS requires you to keep these records as long as they are important for any tax law, which is usually 3 years from the date your taxes are filed.

As a home based business owner you may deduct a portion of the following business expenses, which are directly related to your house.

ü Insurance
ü Interest expense on the mortgage of the residence
ü Rent, if you don't pay a mortgage
ü Repairs
ü Security system
ü Utilities and services including natural gas, electricity and water
ü Real estate taxes
ü Depreciation, if you do depreciate your home

As you can see utilizing your home to administer your business can be highly beneficial. However this will be only possible if you qualify for such deductions. In order to qualify you must meet the IRS requirements found in IRS publication 587. Some of the guidelines derived from IRS publication are as follows;

Ø You do not have any other permanent office location outside the home where you conduct business activities.

Ø The specific area defined in your house as your office, must be used for business purposes only. So you cannot use it for other purposes such as family events, etc… Further, you must use the office on a regular basis to conduct administration and management activities of the business such as bookkeeping, billing of customers, ordering supplies and writing reports.

Ø Make sure that use of any space in your business office area is associated with the business, and used as storage on a regular basis. Use the space exclusively and regularly as a place where you meet or deal with customers.

Now, for the time being let us assume that you manage to qualify for these deductions. Keep in mind that you will only be able to deduct a portion of the total expenses. Why?

The logic is simple, you don’t exactly use the whole house for your business. As a result you need to determine how much of your house is actually used for business purposes. For example let’s say you decided to start a Tax Consultation Service and you do all your work at your home office. Assume your house is 1250 sq feet and your home office is 200 sq feet. That's 16% of the total area of the house (200 sq feet / 1250 sq feet). Thus, you can deduct 16% of all the above mentioned valid expenses on your tax return. For instance if your annual rent was $30,000, you would be able to deduct 16% of it (i.e. $4800) from your taxable income.

So far we have looked at this topic from a general perspective. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that you access the IRS publications noted above and go through them in detail. It includes many more exceptions and detailed requirements you need to consider before taking the home business deduction. Further, it is also advisable to get the consultation of a tax specialist in case of complicated scenarios specific to your business.

Are You Living In Your Financial Comfort Zone?

One of the most startling discoveries I made once I embarked on my path of personal growth were the self-sabotaging attitudes I had towards wealth.

This is something that has also shocked many of my clients once they made the realisation that they were simply not comfortable with money.

But this isn't just a general dislike of money but rather an unconscious preset limit, which many of us have decided is the figure that we cannot go beyond.

To prove this point take the following test.

1. For the next ten seconds imagine earning 10% more than you do now and as you do notice how that makes you feel.

2. For the next ten seconds imagine earning DOUBLE your present salary, actually picture your next salary check with double your present income, as you do again notice how you feel.

When answering these two questions most people usually have no problem with imagining what it would be like to earn 10% more than their present salary, however once they started thinking about higher figures many often become increasingly tense and uncomfortable with the idea.

If you experienced feelings similar to this it is very possible that you have just encountered your financial comfort zone.

This is why you are struggling with your finances, unable to grow your business and still waiting for that salary increase.

You are not experiencing financial abundance because on some mental level it's simply not okay for you to earn more than a certain amount.

This all stems from the conditioned beliefs you developed during childhood about money, which have manifested into the present financial circumstances you are now experiencing.

So how do you get out of this dilemma?

There are several practical things you can do to breakout of the financial comfort zone you are currently in, some of which are detailed as follows.

- Make a conscious decision to be wealthy

Make a declaration in writing that you are going to wealthy and include a specific figure of your desired net worth and date for when this will occur.

- Get financially literate

Start reading and studying books about money, do this until you truly understand the key principles of wealth creation. Books such as The One Minute Millionaire, Richest Man in Babylon, Rich Dad Poor Dad, and Think and Grow Rich. By reading these great works you will be developing the knowledge and skills necessary to creating your financial base.

- Change your limiting beliefs about wealth to empowering ones

To ensure that you are able to develop a sound financial future it will be necessary for you to change the limiting beliefs you have about money. This for many can be an immense challenge in itself; however there are several techniques available that allow you to do this.

Once you’ve eliminated your outdated beliefs about wealth you will find that your financial circumstances shift into a whole new direction.

After completing these three steps you will breakthrough to whole new level of prosperity as you move beyond your present financial boundaries and are no longer constrained by the limitations created by your past conditioning.

Balancing home and work for home business

With so many young people trying to work from home on the Internet it is amazing just how many of them really do not have the slightest idea, of the workload they have gotten themselves into. Many of these people did not even sit down and assess what it is that they see as reasonable personal goal. This is a huge mistake on their part. You must know what you want in order to find a way to obtain it. It must be clear to everyone willing to jump into the Internet marketing world; if you are not sure whether or not you have drive and a willingness to succeed you might want to save yourself some money and much aggravation.

It is easy to want something, and you may know how you have to get it. There is this little issue about dedication and determination do you have it? Why put yourself through the troubles of failing and wondering exactly where you went wrong.

The great Winston Churchill once said, “If you find yourself walking through hell, just keep going”. This idea of the struggles people face, in business and in life is just that. Struggles, the winners will survive and the weak will fall. This has been a true facet in life since the beginning of time. Basically staying power in the Internet marketing business is about keeping your face off the pavement.

They also do not get the fact that because it is their business, and not someone else’s responsibility that they in turn will have to work probably much harder to keep it going. When these people hear the nonsense about working 1 hour per week and striking it rich, I truly feel sorry for their heads and wallets when they inevitably re enter the earth’s atmosphere, and hit the ground with a screeching halt. Again this may be nothing more than naivety. And not total stupidity.

The unfortunate part for most people new to the scene is that they have absolutely no idea just what it entails on a time basis. What must be remembered is that success cannot be bought in a can. It is the single marketing plan and strategy that is doomed to fail. You must be able to walk many avenues in order to reap the benefits of the successes it can yield. Buy into what you feel truly will get you ahead, listen to what other marketers are saying in the forums and try to catch on quick. This field is extremely fast and waits for no one.

The best way to do business is to spread out your resources as much as possible; the best way for exposure is to be out in the middle of the field.

Starting a Home based Business makes Dollars and Sense

When starting out a home based business as with any business you need to have a dream and be hungry for success in order to achieve that dream. You always have that “idea” (the triggering point) which sparks off in starting a business. However, you also need to have the persistence and motivation to make that business a success. Only this way will you be able to achieve your ultimate goals.

Your goals may be:

· More time to spend with family & kids
· Independent (be your own boss)
· Working flexible hours
· Savings on expenditure otherwise spent on commuting, office attire etc.

Here are some useful points to keep in mind when starting out or in running your business.

Be realistic. Evaluate your strengths and weaknesses. It’s important to know what these are beforehand. That way you’ll be able to focus on your strengths and minimize weaknesses. As you will be setting out on a life changing mission knowing them at the outset itself will increase your chances of success. Some essential factors needed in order to succeed are self-discipline, the drive to do what it takes, motivation and focus.

Set Goals. Identify your goals clearly. By doing this you will more likely be able to achieve them. These maybe your dreams like having a new car, a house in the country or by the seaside, more time with your family and kids, or even helping others. Whatever they are and no matter how many you may have, make a list of them. It is possible to achieve all of them as far as you don’t lose sight of your goal.

Construct a Business Plan
. There goes a saying “if you fail to plan you plan to fail”. Having a business plan is a must. It is simple to construct one. Have an income and expenses statement (you can make an estimate of your income and the expenses that you need to meet). Also make an allowance for any unplanned expenses. (In case of emergencies) in addition to the usual business expenses of stationery, internet, telephone and any other expenses you would incur.

Research and Review. A lot of legitimate options and systems are available to choose from depending on your capabilities and skills. Doing online business is fun however; Working from home requires self- discipline, dedication and professionalism in order to succeed. You work for yourself and by yourself so careful planning is required in order to get things in order.

Plan Your Day. Draw up a time management plan specifying what tasks should be carried out during what times. Document it and stick to it.

An important facet about Legitimate Business Systems is that they come with a Mentor. Absorb whatever you can from the Mentor, be like a sponge and take as much advice as you can. Soak their knowledge up and be ready to act. These people who are ready to mentor you have already made it to the top and made money. They are unselfishly ready to pass on their knowledge on to you - it won’t get any better than this. This is the ultimate opportunity.

Do not give up. Stay focused at all times and stay on track. You are sure to be successful.
