Key To Success - Action

The fuel that ignites success is action. Success and achievement will not drop ready made from heaven into your lap. All who succeed are gluttons for work, working while others play and sleep. All teaching to the contrary is erroneous. To think that success is going to come to you when it is unmerited, simply because you make use of “affirmations” or employ mental “treatments” is foolish. There is only one way to succeed in the affairs of life, and that is by taking action and raising oneself to greater usefulness and service. By doing things better than they have been done before, bearing greater responsibility, you serve humanity better, and therefore merit success.

“It is more blessed to give than to receive,” said the Master, and this is true even in the practical and material affairs of life. First, you must give better and more valuable service: in other words, deserve and merit before you expect to see it materialize. You must sow before you can reap: you must become too big for your present position before you are capable of occupying a larger one. You must grow and expand in every possible way, and as you grow so will your success increase. Outward success is only a reflection, so to speak, of what you really are, and a result of greater and more valuable service to humanity. It requires great effort, determination, and action to get out of the rut, but so long as your ambition is not dishonorable or selfish, there will be found within you power sufficient for all your needs.

2 Corinthians 9:10-12 10 Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. 11 You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. 12 This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God's people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.

To win success, either in the hurly-burly of life or the more difficult path of spiritual progress, demands imagination, vision, courage, faith, determination, persistence, perseverance, hope, cheerfulness, and other qualities. These are all to be found within. All these qualities lie more or less dormant within, and can be called into expression if we believe that Infinite Power is ours. Again, once these qualities are called into expression you must employ the key to success; action.

James 2:17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

Heed the warning that this Power must not be used for selfish desires, still less may it be used, or, rather, mis-used, either to influence or dominate others. If this Power is mis-used the results are terrible and disastrous. Therefore, use the Power only for the achievement of good and noble aims in service which shall enrich the life of your fellows, adding to the common good. Having arrived at this stage you must go forward. There can be no holding back. Ever onward, the Divine Urge is sending you, to greater achievement and accomplishment. Just as surely as the planets must revolve round the sun and fulfill their destiny, so also must you go forward. See to it, then, that your aims and ambitions are based upon eternal wisdom and that you take action accordingly, for upon this does the key to your success depend.

Network Marketing Strategies

Before the creation of the Internet, those who made money on sales relied a good deal on simple network marketing strategies. They would simply strike up a conversation with a potential customer. A manufacturer's representative would, for example, visit a number of different retail stores, and he (or she) would lend a listening ear to the stories of the store owner,

In that way, a salesperson could better identify the primary interests of that store owner. Having identified those interests the salesperson could better strengthen his (or her) relationship with the store owner. The salesperson would need to realize that each store owner represented a possible way to increase the number of requests for a particular product.

Today, salespeople tend to rely on a different set of network marketing strategies. Still, certain of the old strategies need to be appreciated for their ability to assist with widening the circle of customers. This article will offer details on some of the more traditional network marketing strategies.

Advertising can help with the development of a network. Looking beyond the Internet, a salesperson should think about using postcards, newspapers, radio and TV in order to get out a commercial message. Such efforts should lead to a response from a diverse population. Some of the responses might well come from well-educated individuals.

The telephone should not go unmentioned in any article about network marketing strategies. A phone conversation can be used as a way to build a relationship. The salesperson should not appear in a hurry to sell his or her product. The salesperson should indicate a readiness to listen to the person on the other end of the line.

Whether the salesperson prefers to make contact by phone or in person, that salesperson should not expect results from a single contact. Every salesperson needs to plan for follow-up contacts. By engaging in such contacts, the salesperson can better display an interest in the potential customer. The customer thus becomes more trusting of the salesperson.

In order to highlight the importance of follow-up contacts, the reader is asked to recall again the network marketing strategies that preceded the creation of the Internet. One salesperson in Pennsylvania used to make regular stops at a store in the area outside of Philadelphia. By chance, he discovered that the daughter of the store owner would be attending an all-girl's college in New England.

That father and salesman realized that he could proceed without reliance on network marketing strategies. He had been given a wonderful strategy. That father and salesman knew that his own daughter was attending the same institution.

The father and salesman later told his daughter about the information he had received on one of the new freshmen at her school. The daughter, of course, was pleased to learn about someone who she could add to her own network of friends. The daughter was aiding the publicity efforts of a local non-profit group.

Both the father and the daughter benefited from the father's diligent use of follow-up techniques—an important part of all network marketing strategies.

Running a Business from Home: How to be a Successful Entrepreneur

If you are thinking of running a business from home, there are a few basic tips you should know. This essential knowledge holds the key whether you will be successful in your venture or not. Let's start by looking at ways to start planning for your business.

Wasting precious time in small details

When setting up a new company, do not get bogged down in detail when preparing the ground for setting it up. The important thing is to set up the business in as simple form as possible and keep improving as you go, making adjustment and changes according to the dictates of the moment. As you go on you will find that there is actually not much to accommodate and if you have spent too mush time in your preparation, you will find it only time not well spent. When you are running a business from home this is a very important factor.

Partnership woes

Starting a business on a partnership basis is a mistake because the company can break up easily at any time even due to the slightest hitch. A multitude of problems will crop up from time to time which results in disagreements leading to a split.

Ask your worth

Entrepreneurs should ask for what they are worth and get it. It is a folly to enter a market and wanting to be cheaper than competitors. Entrepreneurs must find ways to get what they are worth by adding value. Start-ups have a particular advantage on this because since they have not started something they can embark on anything. They have the advantage of studying what works and what doesn't work for their competitors.

Payments

Late payments are one of the bugbears of small business owner. Whatever it is, do not forget that you are not a bank and don't behave like one. There is nothing wrong about asking for money before a product or service is provided. Useful method is offering a discount if payment is received up front. Set a dateline for special discounts to be effective.

Frugal

Overspending is a vital erroneous practice of many small businesses running a business from home. When buying office furniture, go for the second hand ones. That will save money which can be used to replenish money capital investment and cut down loss should the business fail. Two companies in the same building can share a photo copier.

Form filling

Don't use your prime time bogged up in form filling because that can be done during the part of the day that are not productive. At other times concentrate on selling because that is the business you are in ---- selling and making money and not practicing filling forms.

Feedback

Never ignore positive feedback. Helpful feed back is free but they can help remedy your weaknesses. Feedback usually comes from distributors of your products who are in close contact with consumers. They know what makes the customers happy or otherwise with the company's products or services. Use these feedbacks to your advantage by making the necessary adjustments to your operations.

One example of ignoring feedback was made by a new company with great potential to capture the market both locally and abroad. Customers clamored for the company's products but suddenly sales drop a lot. The company received feedback from distributors that the quality of the product has dropped. Instead of listening to the feedback and improving quality, the company's CEO ignored the feedback and boast of the company's million- dollars status that would not get the company out of business. He brushed the feedback as insignificant. What happened told the whole story. The company went out of business and the arrogant CEO is now hunting for a new job.

Growing too fast

Growing too big too fast is also not advantageous when you are running a business from home unless you can handle the expansion meticulously. Don't grow into a business empire that will give you a headache.

Advertising

To be a successful entrepreneur running a business from home, be careful in your advertising. Identify your customer and advertise accordingly. Never simply spend a lot of money advertising and then pray for the results. Do some research before you go on an advertising campaign. You will hit the bull's eye.

Finally remember that you never knew who knows who. If you offer a great deal to one customer before long others will know including those that bought the product or service at a higher price. If you are spreading positive news, it is good to let things slip. People like talking about other people. You can take advantage of the mouth-to-mouth gossiping patterns to inform others about the uniqueness and exclusivity of your business operations. If you follow these steps meticulously, you will be a successful entrepreneur running a business from home.

Putting All the Pieces Together - Part 2

In part 1 of this article I introduced you to some of the pieces necessary to building a solid and profitable business. I ended the article with one question:

Why aren't sponsors sharing their marketing/advertising strategies with you?

I think this is a very good question. Why aren't sponsors starting the training/learning process by introducing you to what works -- or at least what's worked for them? Simple....

Some sponsors have built their business the old fashioned way -- warm market followed by cold calls and building relationships with total strangers in an effort to increase their business numbers. Actually, I shouldn't say "some" but most have done it the old fashioned way.

Now I'm not saying that you need to sit at your computer all day and deal with people only through email -- I hate that just as much as the other guy. What I am saying is that more and more people are staying home and getting everything they need from the internet. We can now order everything -- including pizza -- by logging into the internet and searching for it. Why does everyone prefer the internet over leaving the house?

Easy -- search engines can find you whatever you're looking for -- all you have to do is ask for it. They don't give you a hard time and ask why you want to know.

Can you do that at the mall? I mean really -- can you go into any store in the mall, ask a question and get the best possible answer without a hassle? Heavens NO! You'll be lucky if the store employee can direct you to the nearest restroom....

We all must move to marketing online or our businesses will die a slow, painful death....okay perhaps a little too dramatic but you get my point.

The problem? Your sponsor may not know where to begin either BUT...you could learn together. Make sure that you keep track of everything. Track your URLs (there are a few free sites for this) so you know which advertising campaigns are working and which ones aren't. Learn how to write effective emails - search online for free courses. And discover where to buy the best double opt-in leads for your company. Unfortunately the best to figure this out is to purchase a small list, run your ad and watch how well it does. Only then will you know if it was worth your money.

Keep a WORD file of every site you're using, the ad copy you used, when you posted, when you have to renew the ad, etc. Remember to keep track of the costs as well. The ads no good if it's costing more than it's bringing into your business.

Then....

Share the information with your team AND your sponsor. Perhaps if we would remember we're in this together we'd all be doing better.

Remember what we all love most about Network Marketing....everyone has the ability to win at the game of financial independence. This includes YOU.

It's also important to remember that you must keep it all going at the same time. If you stop doing one thing just so you can do another then you're not going to get anywhere. You need to do as many of the things I mentioned in Part 1 as possible.

How do you do that without going nuts or spending all of your time on marketing/advertising?

Schedule time everyday just for marketing/advertising and give your business a marketing/advertising budget. Stay within that budget - no matter what.

Getting started will take the longest. I'd recommend creating your ads and emails first -- even before you know where you're going to post them or who you're going to send them to. That way once you know what sources you're going to use all you have to do is copy and paste from your file then make notes about each campaign.

Keep it as simple as possible and learn how to automate it so you can get back some of your free time. For now though, remember that you'll have to give up some of your free time in order to get this set up and working for you. Get serious, stay serious and hit the ground running. Don't ever quit until you have achieved your goal...

Running a Business from Home: The Importance of Business Planning

Starting a business without a business plan is suicide. Just as you have to plan your route for a journey, you will have to plan the route for your business as well. Without a planned route as a guide you will not know whether you are heading in the right direction or otherwise. If you thinking of running a business from home, proper planning is the key to starting your journey in the right direction.

A Brief Overview

Included in the business plan should be the nature of the business, its business aims and objectives, an analysis of its viability in a particular location, the company's image, fulfillment of the legal aspects, cash flow projecting the profit and loss projections and the break even analysis.

All the above will have to be discussed in details which will show the course that the company will steer to arrive at its destination.

A Decisive Target

The good business plan will obviously have a specific target to aim at. This target will keep you on track to achieve the developments and success you aim for. It also acts as a guide for you to make adjustments along the way if something is not working well.

Financial Aid

There are also other demands that insist you have a carefully drawn business plan showing how you intend to do the business, where you are heading for and how do you plan to get there. A good business is always required to be presented to lending banks or any other financial institutions that offer to finance the project. Without a good business plan, you request for financial aid will usually be thrown off. At times based on the business type you will be operating, you are qualified for government grants. These granting bodies also will want to look at your business plan. Finally the business owner will feel comfortable investing in a business that has a solid business plan to back it up.

Keeping Track

On the whole, as a sailing ship, a business plan will allow the business to track its actual program against its projected target. Since the business plan is drawn up in advance it is natural that it cannot be 100% accurate since it cannot take into account unexpected changes. That is why it is crucial that the business plan is revisited frequently by the business owner and adjusted if necessary

Steering in the Right Direction

The most common reason why a business plan is needed is to serve as a guide to the entrepreneur on the course of action he is to steer and keep him enlightened on whether his performance on right on track homing in on the projected target or have gone off course and need to be adjusted accordingly.

Government grants

When you are running a business from home, there is however other considerations that need a business plan to be drawn up. Banks will want to examine the business to determine if the project is viable before they commit to financing a loan program for the company. In some cases the company may qualify for government grants. Under the circumstance the granting body will need to see the company's plan to determine if the company is qualified to receive the award of the grant. The plan will also make the business owner feel more comfortable with his investments that he has made the right decision.

Every business owner should make sure that he spend some time writing a business plan and use it as a map to guide him and his business towards his goals.

Spyware Protection: Take Care during any Installation

Spyware protection is especially important for your computer, as spyware software can send your personal information to anybody, without your knowledge. Often user names and passwords can be hacked and sent. Many companies, especially ad companies can make use of this data and send you unsolicited targeted advertisements.

Spyware encourages pop-ups, security threats and slows down the performance of all the programs. Microsoft, like many other companies, provides spyware protection by featuring a monitoring system. This can detect the spyware and recommend actions against it. The interruptions get automatically minimized and you can continue to use the computer in a normal way. There is a free program available called Windows Defender which features spyware protection.

It is difficult to remove spyware from the computer, so it is easier to prevent it and one should look at that as a priority. Normally there are two ways through which spyware can enter your computer. Often you could be asked to click on a link, and in that way the spyware gets installed. Maybe a web site just opens a window that looks like a dialog box, or there is a fake title bar and while you are trying to close the window spyware could get installed.

Another way that spyware can enter your computer is through installation of freeware. Often file-sharing programs could bring in spyware, and it is easy to fall for this trick. As soon as it is installed, it starts downloading advertisements all the time. Also, your home page, search page or your browser settings could be hijacked.

Use antivirus products which include spyware scanning for spyware protection. The latest versions of antivirus products like the Norton Antivirus or America Online (AOL) have an automatic spyware scanning, but the anti-spyware has to be kept updated all the time.

So keep the following tips in mind for spyware protection. When you install a program, make sure that it does not contain spyware. Check it out by reading up the publisher's website or by searching on the net.

Another way is to install a pop-up blocker to prevent spyware pop-up windows. Sometimes, if you click on a link which shows you a dialog box showing 'Yes' to install the program, do not click on the button till you are doubly sure, that the program that you wanted to install is the one that is on your screen.Installing programs with great care is the actual key to spyware protection.
